Ignition Switch: Service and Repair
Removal1. Disconnect the battery ground cable.
2. Remove the steering column upper and lower shrouds.
^ Remove the four screws.
3. Remove the ignition switch from the ignition switch cylinder.
1 Remove the two ignition switch screws.
2 Pull the ignition switch out of the ignition switch cylinder.
4. Position the ignition switch harness down under the instrument panel and disconnect the electrical connector.
5. Remove the ignition switch and harness from the vehicle.
Installation
1. NOTE: When the battery is disconnected and reconnected, some abnormal drive symptoms may occur while the vehicle relearns its adaptive strategy. The vehicle may need to be driven 16 km (10 miles) or more to relearn the strategy.
