This article supersedes TSB 01-13-4 to update the Service Procedure.

ISSUE
A hesitation while making hard sweeping right hand turns (such as a highway on-ramp) may be felt on some vehicles. This condition may be due to fuel pump cavitation, as a result of fuel sloshing away from the filter sock in the fuel tank.

ACTION
It may be necessary to replace the fuel pump/sender assembly. Refer to the following Service Procedure.

SERVICE PROCEDURE

1. Attempt to verify a fuel pressure drop while the vehicle is exhibiting this condition.

a. If a fuel pressure drop is verified, replace the fuel pump/sender assembly. Refer to Workshop Manual, Section 310-01 for removal and installation instructions. Refer to the part table for correct replacement pump by application.

b. If the fuel pressure does not drop, DO NOT replace the fuel pump. Proceed with normal diagnostics as outlined in the Workshop and PC/ED Manuals.
