Removal and Installation
1. With the vehicle in NEUTRAL, raise and support the vehicle.
2. Remove the rear wheel and tire assembly.





3. NOTE: Index-mark the driveshaft flange and the pinion flange to maintain initial balance during installation.

Remove the driveshaft assembly.





4. Drain the axle housing assembly.
5. Remove the axle halfshafts.





6. Support the axle housing.





7. Disconnect the vehicle speed sensor electrical connector.





8. Disconnect the axle housing vent tube.





9. NOTE: Spare wheel removed for clarity.

Remove the upper axle housing bolts.





10. Remove the lower axle housing bolt.
11. Lower the axle housing from the vehicle.
12. To install, reverse the removal procedure.
