Special Tool(s)

Removal and Installation

1. NOTE: Make sure the wheels are in the straight-ahead position.

Remove the driver air bag module.





2. Loosen the steering wheel bolt.





3. Disconnect the electrical connector.





4. CAUTION: Removing the steering wheel without using a puller can damage the column bearings.

Using the special tool, remove the steering wheel.





5. Remove the special tool and the bolt.
^ Discard the bolt.
6. Remove the steering wheel while routing the wiring through the steering wheel.





7. If necessary, remove the speed control switches and the wiring.
8. To install, reverse the removal procedure.
