Keyless Entry
The keyless entry system consists of the following components:
- keyless entry remote transmitter
- central security module (early-build vehicles)
- keyless entry keypad
- vehicle security module (late-build vehicles)
The keyless entry remote transmitter initiates the following electronic door lock system functions:
- unlocks the driver door
- unlocks all doors
- locks all doors
- enables the panic alarm
- releases the liftgate window glass
- turns the interior lamps on (when unlocking) and off (when locking)
- sounds the horn once when LOCK on keyless entry remote transmitter is pressed twice, and all the doors are closed
- sounds the horn twice when LOCK on the keyless entry remote transmitter is pressed twice, and any door, the liftgate or the liftgate window is ajar
- allows up to four keyless entry remote transmitters to be programmed
NOTE: The remote entry features will not function when the ignition switch is in the RUN or ACC position, or if the vehicle speed is greater than 5 km/h (3 mph).
The keyless entry remote transmitters are reprogrammable and must be set at the same time.
To confirm that the doors have been locked, press the LOCK button again, within three seconds of the first press. The horn will sound once if the doors have locked and all doors are closed. The horn will sound twice if one or more doors are open.
All the doors can be unlocked using the driver door key cylinder.
The smart unlocking feature will lock the doors and one second later unlock the driver door when the doors are locked with the key in the ignition.
To confirm the perimeter alarm has been armed (if equipped), press the LOCK button once. The parking lamps will flash once to confirm all doors and liftgate are closed and the system is armed. If a door is open the perimeter alarm will flash the parking lamps once the doors are closed and set the alarm.
To activate the panic alarm:
- Press the red PANIC button on the keyless entry remote transmitter. The horn will sound and the parking lamps will flash for a maximum of 2 minutes and 45 seconds.
To deactivate the panic alarm:
- Press the red PANIC button again on the keyless entry remote transmitter.
- Turn the ignition switch to RUN/ACC.
The keyless entry keypad can be used to unlock the driver door or lock and unlock all the doors and release the liftgate window glass. It also lights the keypad lamp, allows one user code to be programmed and issues illuminated entry on/off requests to the instrument cluster when locking and unlocking.
The permanent entry code is located on the owner code card in the glove compartment. It is electronically accessible using a diagnostic tool and is labeled on the central security module (early build) or vehicle security module (late build).
The modules are programmed at the factory with a five-digit entry code. A new module includes a new owner code card.
To turn on the interior lamps and light all illuminated components, press any button on the keyless entry keypad.
If the autolock feature is enabled, the autolock feature will activate when the ignition switch is in the RUN/ACC position, any door is opened then closed, the brake pedal is engaged then released, and the vehicle speed is greater than 5 km/h (3 mph).
After the initial lock, all doors will automatically relock when any door is opened and then closed while traveling 5 km/h (3mph), the brake pedal is engaged then released, and the vehicle speed becomes greater than 5 km/h (3 mph). However, the doors will not relock if the ignition switch is in the OFF position.
