Reverse Idler Gear

Disassembly and Assembly





1. Remove the retaining ring.





2. Remove the washer.





3. Remove the reverse idler gear.





4. Remove the reverse idler gear needle bearing.
^ Inspect the bearing for wear or damage. Install a new bearing as necessary.





5. Remove the thrust washer.
^ Inspect the thrust washer for wear or damage. Install a new thrust washer as necessary.





6. NOTE: Make sure to align the tab on the thrust washer with the cut out on the reverse idler gear shaft.

To assemble, reverse the disassembly procedure.
