Intermediate Shaft Speed (ISS) Sensor

Intermediate Shaft Speed (ISS) Sensor

Removal

All vehicles
1. Raise and support the vehicle.





4x4 vehicles
2. Disconnect the front driveshaft from the transfer case.





3. Disconnect the front driveshaft from the front differential.





4. Remove the front driveshaft from the vehicle.





All vehicles
5. Remove the shift cable and bracket.





6. Disconnect Intermediate Shaft Speed (ISS) sensor electrical connector.





7. Remove ISS sensor.
1 Remove the ISS sensor screw.
2 Remove the ISS sensor from the transmission.
^ Inspect the ISS sensor O-ring for damage. If damaged, install a new O-ring.

Installation





All vehicles
1. Inspect and lubricate O-ring with petroleum jelly.
1 Install the ISS sensor into the transmission.
2 Tighten ISS sensor screw.





2. Connect ISS sensor electrical connector.





3. Install the shift cable and bracket.





4x4 vehicles
4. Install the front driveshaft in the vehicle.





5. Install the front driveshaft to the transfer case.





6. Install the front driveshaft to the front differential.

All vehicles
7. Lower the vehicle.
