Output Shaft Speed (OSS) Sensor

Removal

All vehicles
1. Raise and support the vehicle.





4x4 vehicles
2. Disconnect the front driveshaft from the transfer case.





3. Disconnect the front driveshaft from the front differential.





4. Remove the front driveshaft from the vehicle.





All vehicles
5. Remove the shift cable and bracket.





6. Disconnect the H02S sensor connector from the transmission case.





7. Disconnect the Output Shaft Speed (OSS) sensor electrical connector.





8. Remove OSS sensor.
1 Remove the OSS sensor screw.
2 Remove the OSS sensor from the transmission.
9. Inspect the OSS sensor O-ring for damage. If damaged, install a new O-ring.

Installation





All vehicles
1. Inspect and lubricate O-ring with petroleum jelly.
1 Install the OSS sensor into the transmission.
2 Tighten OSS sensor screw.





2. Connect OSS sensor electrical connector.





3. Connect the H02S sensor connector to the transmission case.





4. Install the shift cable and bracket.





4x4 vehicles
5. Install the front driveshaft in the vehicle.





6. Install the front driveshaft to the transfer case.





7. Install the front driveshaft to the front differential.

All vehicles
8. Lower the vehicle.
