Liftgate Alignment

Adjustment, left and right
1. Rotate the instrument panel dimmer switch to the position where the interior lighting is off with the doors open.







2. Remove the liftgate striker.







3. Loosen, but do not remove, the hinge to liftgate bolts just enough to permit movement of liftgate.
4. Adjust the liftgate to specifications.
5. Tighten the hinge to liftgate bolts.

Adjustment, in and out, up and down
6. Remove the upper interior trim panel.
7. Remove the interior D-pillar trim panel.







8. Remove the rear garment hangers by opening the center cover, inserting a screwdriver and rotating clockwise.

NOTE: Left side shown, Right side similar.

9. Position the headliner to access the liftgate hinge to body fasteners.







10. Loosen, but do not remove, the hinge to body fasteners just enough to permit movement of the liftgate.
11. Adjust the liftgate to specifications.
12. Tighten the hinge to liftgate fasteners.
13. Install the liftgate striker, adjust as necessary.
