Clutch Disc Check
Clutch Disc CheckSpecial Tools:
Special Tool(s)
1. NOTE: Install a new clutch disc if any of these conditions are present. Always install a new clutch pressure plate when installing a new clutch disc.
NOTE: For clutch discs that have oil or grease contamination, eliminate the source of the contamination.
Inspect the clutch disc for the following:
^ oil or grease contamination
^ worn or loose facings
^ distortion
^ burrs or uneven wear on the splines
^ wear or damage on the clutch disc surface
2. Using emery cloth, remove minor imperfections on the clutch disc lining surface.
3. Using the special tools, check the maximum allowable runout of the clutch disc.
^ Install a new clutch disc if the measurement is greater than specified.
