Radio, Stereo, and Compact Disc: Description and Operation

The three levels of audio Systems available are AM/FM stereo cassette, premium AM/FM stereo cassette, and supersound stereo cassette with optional six disc CD changer.

The base audio system consists of:
^ a 24-watt AM/FM audio unit with cassette player
^ two lower front door trim speakers
^ two luggage side trim speakers
^ a fixed rod antenna
^ an optional CD changer
^ an optional Rear Audio Control Panel (RACP)

The mid level audio system consists of:
^ a 80-watt AM/FM audio unit with cassette player
^ two lower front door trim speakers
^ two luggage side trim speakers
^ steering wheel audio controls
^ a fixed rod antenna
^ an optional RACP
^ an optional CD changer

The high line supersound audio system consists of:
^ a 130-watt AM/FM integrated dual media audio unit with cassette player and single compact disc player
^ two lower front door trim speakers
^ two upper front door trim tweeter speakers
^ two luggage side trim speakers
^ one left hand side subwoofer with amplifier speaker assembly
^ steering wheel audio controls
^ a fixed rod antenna
^ an optional RACP
^ an optional CD changer

The radio ignition interference capacitor located near the distributor reduces interference transmitted through the radio speakers by the engine ignition and electrical systems. When installing any frequency interference suppression equipment components, make sure that a good contact is made at all connections. Remove any paint or dirt between a component and its ground.
