Brake Load Sensor Proportioning Valve

Brake Load Sensor Proportioning Valve
Check the length of the spring on the brake load sensor proportioning valve. Adjust if necessary. Raise the vehicle with an axle mount hoist. Remove the wheel cylinder bleeder screws from either the right disc brake caliper and the left rear wheel cylinder, or the left disc brake caliper and the right rear wheel cylinder. Connect Proportioning Valve Test Gauge Set to the disc brake caliper and to the rear wheel cylinder using Brake Test Fitting Set. Bleed the air from the pressure gauges. Press the brake pedal until the front brake fluid pressure is 5,884 kPa (853 psi). Hold the pedal in that position and read the rear brake fluid pressure. The rear brake fluid pressure is within specifications if it is 3,296 - 5,688 kPa (478 - 825 psi). If the rear brake fluid pressure is not within specification, install a new brake load sensor proportioning valve. Press the brake pedal until the front brake fluid pressure is 11,770 kPa (1,707 psi). Hold the brake pedal in that position and read the rear brake fluid pressure. The rear brake fluid pressure is within specification if it is 5,613 - 7,336 kPa (814 - 1,064 psi). If the rear brake fluid is not within specification, install a new brake load sensor proportioning valve. Remove the brake load sensor proportioning valve spring. Press the brake load sensor proportioning valve rod inward while depressing the brake pedal until the front brake fluid pressure is 11,770 kPa (1,707 psi). Hold the pedal in that position and read the rear brake fluid pressure,The rear brake fluid pressure should be greater than 7,336 kPa (1,064 psi). If the rear brake fluid is not higher than 7,336 kPa (1,064 psi), install a new brake load sensor proportioning valve. Pull the brake load sensor proportioning valve rod outward while depressing the brake pedal until the front brake fluid pressure is 11,770 kPa (1,707 psi). Hold the pedal in that position and read the rear brake fluid pressure. The rear brake fluid pressure should be approximately 5,613 kPa (814 psi). If the rear brake fluid is not approximately 5,613 kPa (814 psi), install a new brake load sensor proportioning valve. Bleed the air from the brake system.
