Halfshaft - RHSpecial Tool(s)
Removal
1. Remove the wheel and tire assembly.
2. Remove the cotter key.
3. Remove the wheel hub nut and washer.
4. Remove the stabilizer link nut.
5. Separate the suspension lower ball joint from the knuckle.
1 Remove the cotter pin.
2 Remove the nut.
3 Separate the suspension lower ball joint from the knuckle.
6. Remove the support bearing bolts.
7. CAUTION: Extreme care must be taken to ensure that the pry bar does not damage the transaxle case, the transaxle oil seal, the front wheel driveshaft and the joint and joint boot.
Separate the halfshaft from the transaxle.
8. Using the special tool, separate the halfshaft from the knuckle.
9. Remove the halfshaft.
Installation
1. NOTE: When seated properly, the driveshaft bearing retainer circlip can be felt as it snaps into the differential side gear groove.
To install, reverse the removal procedure.
