Normal Operation
The indicator flasher relay receives battery power from CJB fuse 5 (15A). The electronic flasher provides power to the multifunction switch through circuit 385 (WH/RD). When the hazard switch is turned ON, current flows from the multifunction switch to the RH turn signals through circuit 2 (WH/LB) and LF turn signals through circuit 3 (LG/WH). Current is also routed internally within the multifunction switch to flow through circuit 374 (DB/WH) LR lamp and circuit 378 (BN/YE) RR lamp. The timed on/off cycle is determined in the indicator flasher relay and is set to flash approximately 80 times per minute if both the front and rear indicators operate. If only one turn signal lamp operates, the indicator flasher relay will flash approximately 160 times per minute.
Possible Causes
- circuit 385 (WH/RD) open
- circuit 1205 (BK) open
- indicator flasher relay
- multifunction switch
