ISSUE
Some 2003 4dr. Explorer/Mountaineer vehicles may exhibit a body type creak noise from the passenger compartment A-pillar area of the vehicle when driving over bumps and/or turns.

ACTION
Remove inside A-pillar trim panel. Reposition sheet metal to correct noise condition. Refer to the following Service Procedure for details.

SERVICE PROCEDURE

1. Verify condition.

2. Gently position the right side weather strip aside from the A-pillar trim panel and remove the right side interior A-pillar trim panel.





3. Use tool to reposition the sheet metal to eliminate A-pillar and inner cowl interface. Refer to (Figure 1) for correct tool placement.

4. Test drive to verify repair.
