LINCOLN:
2003-2004 Aviator

MERCURY:

This article supersedes TSB 04-25-9 to correct the vehicle model years and part information.

ISSUE
Some 2002-2004 Explorer 4dr/Mountaineer and 2003-2004 Aviator vehicles may exhibit inoperative rear power window(s). This may be caused by a mechanical frictional lockup condition in the power window motor, and not an electrical fault. (Bench testing of the window motor may show normal motor operation). This condition primarily occurs in high temperature regions, and with extended periods of non-usage/function of the rear windows.

ACTION
It may be necessary to replace the rear power window motor(s). Refer to Section 501-00 of the Workshop Manual and follow the appropriate symptom chart(s).
