Transmission Fluid Cooler





Special Tool(s)

NOTE: The 4x4 vehicle is shown in this procedure, the 4x2 vehicle is similar.

1. With the vehicle in PARK, position on a hoist.





2. Remove the components in the order indicated in the illustration and table. To remove individual components, carry out the following steps.





3. To install, reverse the removal procedure.

Item 1: Side Air Deflector Removal Note





1. Remove the pushpins from the LH side air deflector.





2. Remove the pushpins from the RH side air deflector.

Item 2: Lower Air Deflector Removal Note





1. Position the lower air deflector out of the way.

Item 3: Transmission Fluid Cooler Hose Fittings Removal Note





1. Remove the transmission fluid cooler hose fitting retaining clips.





2. Using the special tool, disconnect the fluid cooler line.





3. Using the special tool, disconnect the fluid cooler line.

Item 11: Transmission Fluid Cooler Line bracket Installation Note





1. Transfer the fluid cooler line brackets to the new lines.
1 Bend the tabs open to remove the bracket.
2 Remove the bracket.





2. Remove the bracket.

Item 3: Transmission Fluid Cooler Hose Fittings Installation Note





1. Install the transmission fluid cooler hose fitting retaining clips.

Item 1: Side Air Deflector Installation Note





1. Position the lower air deflector back in place and install the pushpins from the LH side air deflector.





2. Install the pushpins from the RH side air deflector.
