Removal and Installation
1. If removing the subframe bushing or subframe damper assembly, raise and support the vehicle.
2. If removing the subframe, disconnect the battery.







3. If removing the subframe, install the special tool.







4. If removing the subframe, install the special tool.
5. If removing the subframe, remove the front wheel and tire assemblies.
6. If removing the subframe, remove the dual converter Y-pipe.

7. Remove the parts in the order indicated in the following illustration and table.
8. To install, reverse the removal procedure.

Item 1: Lower Ball Joint Bolts Removal Note
1. Make sure to hold the bolt when removing the nut.

Item 3: Stabilizer Link Nuts Removal Note
1. Rotate the stabilizer bar as the subframe is lowered to clear the steering gear.

Item 7: Subframe Mount Bolts and Washer Assembly Removal Note
1. Support the subframe with a suitable support.

Item 8: Subframe Bushing Kit Removal Note
1. Press the front subframe bushing from the subframe.
2. If required to repair the subframe, the subframe bushings may be removed and reinstalled.







Item 9: Front Subframe Kit Removal Note
1. Release the front and rear O2 sensor connector locators from the frame.
2. Position the power steering cooler line aside.
1 Remove the two bolts.
2 Release the power steering cooler line locator.

3. Lower the subframe 101.6 mm (4 in) to disconnect the lower ball joint from the steering knuckle.
4. If a new subframe is being installed, transfer components to the new subframe.

Item 8: Subframe Bushing Kit Installation Note
1. Apply general purpose grease to both sides of the new subframe bushing before installation.
2. Make sure that the subframe bushing split line is facing forward before installation.
3. Press the front subframe bushing into the subframe.

Item 1: Lower Ball Joint Bolts Installation Note
1. Make sure to hold the bolt when installing the nut.
