Rear Disc BrakeWARNING: Brake fluid contains polyglycol ethers and polyglycols. Avoid contact with eyes. Wash hands thoroughly after handling. If brake fluid contacts eyes, flush eyes with running water for 15 minutes. Get medical attention if irritation persists. If taken internally, drink water and induce vomiting. Get medical attention immediately. Failure to follow these instructions may result in personal injury.
CAUTION: Brake fluid is harmful to painted or plastic surfaces. If brake fluid is spilled onto a painted or plastic surface, immediately wash it with water.
1. Remove the rear wheel and tire assemblies.
2. Remove the parts in the order indicated in the following illustration and table.

To remove individual parts, only carry out the listed steps:
4. If the hydraulic system has been opened, bleed the brake system.
5. Inspect the brake system for proper operation.
Item 2: Brake Caliper Removal Note
1. CAUTION: Do not allow the brake caliper to hang by the flexible brake hose.
Support the caliper to the vehicle.
Item 5: Brake Disc Removal Note
1. If the brake disc binds on the parking brake shoe and lining, remove the adjustment hole knockout panel or access plug and contract the parking brake shoe and lining.
Item 8: Brake Disc Shield Removal Note
1. Remove the parking brake shoes.
2. Remove the three bolts and cut the shield at the perforations.
Item 8: Brake Disc Shield Installation Note
1. If installing a new shield, cut the new brake disc shield at the perforations.
2. Position the shield halves and install two bolts, part number W505321-S426, in each shield half.
3. Install the parking brake shoes.
Item 5: Brake Disc Installation Note
1. NOTE: If the adjustment hole knockout panel or access plug was removed, it is necessary to install an access plug to prevent the entry of contaminants.
Install the parking brake shoe adjustment hole access plug, if necessary.
Item 3: Brake Disc Pads Installation Note
1. One brake disc pad kit contains the linings required for both sides.
2. CAUTION: Do not pry in caliper sight hole to retract pistons as this can damage the pistons and boots.
Use a suitable tool to push the brake caliper pistons into the caliper bore.
