Attachment III - Technical Information
OVERVIEWThis program involves reconfiguring the instrument cluster to recognize the tire pressure monitoring system (TPMS).
SERVICE PROCEDURE
1. Connect NGS+ to the vehicle data link connector.
2. Cycle key to the ON position.
3. Select "Vehicle & Engine Selection", press TRIGGER.
4. If any of the following vehicles are listed as the first selection option, select any of the vehicles listed here, press TRIGGER, then GO TO STEP 5.

^ 2004 Mountaineer 4.0L
^ 2004 Mountaineer 4.6L
a. If above listed vehicles are not one of the selections, select "Deselect Vehicle", press TRIGGER.
b. Next, select "Select Vehicle", press TRIGGER.
c. Select "2004-VIN # 10:4" (option 2), press TRIGGER.
d. Select any of the following, then press TRIGGER:
^ 2004 Explorer 4.0L
^ 2004 Explorer 4.6L
^ 2004 Mountaineer 4.0L
^ 2004 Mountaineer 4.6L
5. Select "Diagnostic Data Link" (option 2), press TRIGGER.
6. Select "ICM" (option 6), press TRIGGER.
7. Select "Function Test" (option 5), press TRIGGER.
8. Select "Tire Pressure Monitor Enable" (option 2), press TRIGGER.
a. Wait for screen to display "Configuration Successful".
NOTE:
If you encounter either "Tire Pressure Monitor Not Present" or "Configuration Unsuccessful", call the Special Service Support Center at 1-800-325-5621 for further instructions.
9. After screen displays "Configuration Successful", cycle key to OFF then back to ON.
10. Confirm the TPMS icon shown displays on the instrument cluster.
11. After you verify that TPMS icon is present, cycle key to OFF and disconnect NGS+.
