Camshaft Position Sensor: Service and Repair
CAMSHAFT POSITION (CMP) SENSORSpecial Tool(s):

REMOVAL
1. Disconnect the battery ground cable.
2. Remove the drive belt.

3. Remove the parts in the order indicated in the illustration and table.
Item 1: Power Steering Pump Pulley Removal Note
1. Using the special tool, remove the power steering pump pulley.
Item 2: Power Steering Pump Stud Bolts Removal Note
1. Remove the nuts and position the wiring harness bracket and the ground wire aside.
Item 3: Power Steering Pump Bolt Removal Note
1. Remove the support bracket.
2. Disconnect the power steering high pressure tube. Remove and discard the O-ring seal.
Item 4: Power Steering Pump Removal Note
1. Position the power steering pump aside.
Item 5: Power Steering Reservoir Bracket Nut Removal Note
1. Remove the nut and position the radio interference capacitor aside.
Item 6: Power Steering Reservoir Bracket Removal Note
1. Position the power steering reservoir and bracket assembly aside.
INSTALLATION
1. To install, reverse the removal procedure.
Item 5: Power Steering Reservoir Bracket Nut Installation Note
1. Install the radio interference capacitor.
Item 3: Power Steering Pump Bolt Installation Note
1. Using the special tool, install a new O-ring seal on the power steering high pressure tube.
2. Connect the high pressure power steering tube.
3. Install the support bracket.
Item 2: Power Steering Pump Stud Bolts Installation Note
1. Install the ground wire and the wiring harness bracket.
Item 1: Power Steering Pump Pulley Installation Note
1. Using the special tool, install the power steering pump pulley.
