Normal Operation
The smart junction box (SJB) sends a reference signal to the multifunction switch through circuit 1399 (DB/WH) and a signal to the light sensor through circuit 7 (LG/YE). Ground for the light sensor is sent through circuit 570 (BK/WH). When the multifunction switch is switched to the autolamps ON position, the voltage signal is routed to ground through circuit 570 (BK/WH). When the SJB detects the multifunction switch in the autolamps ON position, the SJB sends out voltage to the exterior lamps if the ambient light conditions are dark. The light sensor determines the amount of light based on the input received from the ambient sky conditions. When the ambient level has reached a point (determined by the internal programming of the SJB), the SJB sends voltage to the headlamps, license lamps and parking lamps.

Possible Causes
- circuit 7 (LG/YE) short to ground
- circuit 570 (BK/WH) open
- circuit 1399 (DB/WH) open
- light sensor
- multifunction switch
- SJB
