Normal Operation
The rear only parking aid system is enabled when the vehicle ignition switch is in the RUN position and the transmission is in REVERSE. For a front and rear system the front and rear sensors are always active when the transmission is in REVERSE with the vehicle ignition switch in the RUN position. When the transmission is in DRIVE the front sensors are active if the vehicle speed is greater than 0 km/h and less than 8 km/h (5 mph). If the vehicle is in DRIVE and is not moving, the front sensors are only active for 5 seconds before being deactivated. The system can be disabled through the traction assist/parking aid disable switch located on the instrument panel. A 750 Hz variable warning tone is generated from a parking aid speaker. The parking aid speaker warning tone rate increases as the vehicle gets closer to an obstacle.

Possible Causes
- sensor alignment
- parking aid module
- circuit 1367 (WH/YE) open
- circuit 239 (WH/OG) open, shorted to ground, or shorted to voltage
