Attachment III - Technical Information

OVERVIEW
This program involves adding a fluid additive to the automatic transmission.

^ For Ranger and Explorer Sport Trac models, the additive will be added to the transmission through the fluid level indicator (dipstick) tube.

^ For 2004 LS and Thunderbird models, the additive will be added through the extension housing fill port.





^ For2005 LE and Thunderbird, and 2004 and 2005 Explorer, Mountaineer and Aviator models, the additive will be added to the transmission through the transmission pan fluid level tube while the engine is running. This procedure requires the transmission fluid temperature (TFT) to be below 38° C (100°F) to ensure fluid level is below the top of the fluid level tube. See Figure 1. Use WDS or NGS to determine transmission fluid temperature.
