LIFTGATE ALIGNMENT

Liftgate left and right adjustment

1. NOTE: Position the carpet for access to liftgate striker bolts. Remove the liftgate striker.







2. Loosen, but do not remove, the hinge-to-liftgate bolts enough to permit movement of the liftgate.







3. Adjust the liftgate so that the gaps are equal.
4. Tighten the liftgate hinge-to-liftgate bolts.
- Tighten to 12 Nm (9 lb-ft).

5. Remove the headliner rear trim panel.







6. Loosen, but do not remove, the liftgate hinge-to-body fasteners enough to permit movement of the liftgate.
7. Adjust the liftgate so that the gaps are equal.
8. Tighten the liftgate hinge-to-body fasteners.
- Tighten the liftgate hinge-to-body nuts to 24 Nm (18 lb-ft).
- Tighten the liftgate hinge-to-body bolts to 32 Nm (24 lb-ft).

9. Install the liftgate striker, adjust as necessary.
- Tighten to 27 Nm (20 lb-ft).







10. Install the headliner rear trim panel.







11. Loosen, but do not remove, the liftgate wedge cup bolts enough to permit movement of the liftgate wedge cups.
12. Close and reopen the liftgate.
13. Tighten the liftgate wedge cup bolts.
- Tighten to 9 Nm (80 lb-in).
