POWERTRAIN CONTROL MODULE (PCM)Removal and Installation
1. NOTE: Refer to the Computers and Control Systems for correct worldwide diagnostic system (WDS) hook-up procedure.
Connect the diagnostic tool to the vehicle. Allow the diagnostic tool to identify the vehicle and obtain configuration data.
- All programmable module information will automatically be retrieved by the WDS.
2. Disconnect the battery ground cable.
3. Loosen the bolts and disconnect the powertrain control module (PCM) electrical connectors.
- To install, tighten to 7 Nm (62 lb-in).
4. Remove the PCM bracket nuts.
- To install, tighten to 8 Nm (71 lb-in).
5. Remove the passenger door scuff plate, position the front door weatherstrip aside, and remove the A-pillar lower trim panel.
6. Remove the screws and the glove compartment.
7. Remove the PCM bracket bolt and the PCM and bracket as an assembly.
- To install, tighten to 10 Nm (89 lb-in).
8. Remove the PCM from the bracket.
9. To install, reverse the removal procedure.
