Normal Operation
The transmission not in PARK warning chime sounds if the ignition switch is in the RUN/START position, the transmission is not in PARK, and the driver door is ajar. The instrument cluster sends a reference voltage to the brake shift interlock through circuit 1151 (DG/OG). When the transmission is placed in any position except PARK, the brake shift interlock routes the signal to ground through circuit 57 (BK).

Possible Causes
- circuit 57 (BK) open
- circuit 1151 (DG/OG) open or short to ground
- brake shift interlock
- ignition switch
- instrument cluster
