Compressor Manifold and Tube Assembly

COMPRESSOR MANIFOLD AND TUBE ASSEMBLY







Removal and Installation

NOTE: Installation of a new suction accumulator is not required when repairing the air conditioning system, except when there is physical evidence of contamination from a failed A/C compressor or damage to the suction accumulator.

1. With the vehicle in NEUTRAL, position it on a hoist.
2. Recover the refrigerant.







3. Position the speed control actuator assembly aside.
1 Disconnect the electrical connector.
2 Detach the wire harness.
3 Remove the 3 nuts and position the speed control actuator aside.
- To install, tighten to 7 Nm (62 lb-in).

4. Remove the 2 compressor manifold and tube assembly bracket nuts.
- To install, tighten to 8 Nm (71 lb-in).

5. Disconnect the compressor manifold and tube spring lock coupling at the suction accumulator.
- Discard the O-ring seals.

6. Remove the front bumper cover.
7. Remove the condenser core inlet fitting nut and disconnect the condenser core inlet fitting.
- Discard the O-ring seal.
- To install, tighten to 8 Nm (71 lb-in).

8. Remove the RH splash shield.
9. If equipped, disconnect the engine block heater.
10. Disconnect the A/C compressor electrical connector.
11. Remove the compressor manifold bolt.
- To install, tighten to 20 Nm (15 lb-ft).

12. Remove the compressor manifold and tube assembly.
- Discard the O-ring seals.

13. To install, reverse the removal procedure.
- Install new O-ring seals.
- Lubricate the refrigerant system with the correct amount of clean PAG oil.

14. Evacuate, leak test and charge the refrigerant system.
