LONG CRANK/HARD START - 3.0L

ISSUE
Some 2005-2006 Escape and Mariner 3.0L vehicles built from 7/19/2004 through 12/5/2005 may exhibit a long crank/hard start under either cold or hot engine conditions.

ACTION
Reprogram the powertrain control module (PCM) using WDS release B40.4 and higher or B41 .1 and higher. This new calibration is not included in the B41 CD. Calibration files may also be obtained at the website.
