Normal Operation
The TPMS provides a warning in the event that a low tire pressure is detected. This is accomplished by sensors mounted inside the tires that monitor the pressure. The tire pressure sensors transmit the tire pressure information to the smart junction box (SJB). When a low tire condition is detected, the SJB provides a low tire message to the instrument cluster over the medium speed controller area network (MS-CAN) to illuminate the TPMS warning indicator.
