Sliding Door: Description and Operation
POWER SLIDING DOORThe left and right power sliding door (PSD) systems each have their own PSD module and operate independently. Each PSD module has specific outputs to control the appropriate PSD operation. The control switches, smart junction box (SJB) park input, SJB vehicle speed input and SJB remote keyless entry (RKE) signal inputs are specific for each PSD module. The SJB park input is a ground supplied by the SJB when the vehicle is in PARK. The SJB vehicle speed input is also a ground supplied by the SJB when vehicle speed is below 5 km/h (3 mph). Both the SJB park input and the SJB vehicle speed input are required for a power open operation. The overhead console on/off switch disables the power assist operation (operation from the interior and exterior door handles and from manual movement).
The PSD system consists of the following components:
- PSD open/close control switch (located in the overhead console)
- Overhead console on/off switch
- PSD control switch (located in the B-pillar trim panel)
- PSD drive assembly actuator (located behind the rear quarter trim panel)
- PSD position sensor (located on the PSD drive assembly)
- PSD module (located behind the rear quarter trim panel, attached to the drive assembly actuator)
- PSD detent and latch switch activated by the interior handle, exterior handle or unlatch actuator (located on the sliding door latch)
- C-pillar ajar switch (located on the C-pillar)
- PSD unlatch actuator (located on the rear handle remote assembly)
