SLIDING DOOR












Removal and Installation

NOTE:
- Be sure to turn off the overhead switch to disable the power sliding door if equipped.
- An assistant is needed to carry out this procedure.

1. Disconnect the battery ground cable.
2. Remove the sliding door trim panel.

3. CAUTION: Damage to the sliding door harness chain assembly will occur if it is not completely disconnected from the sliding door before its removal.

Remove the sliding door scuff plate and position aside the weatherstrip.







4. Remove the 2 lower (metal) sliding door scuff plate screws.







5. Remove the 2 pushpins located on the sliding door lower hinge.







6. To unlock the sliding door harness chain assembly end link from the sliding door lower hinge, use a small screwdriver to pry the locking tab toward front of the vehicle. Once unlocked, the end link can be lifted upward off the anchor pin.

7. CAUTION: Use caution when removing or positioning aside the sliding door harness chain assembly to prevent damage to the chain.

Carefully disconnect the sliding door harness chain assembly from the sliding door, and position aside the sliding door harness and chain.







8. Remove the upper hinge bolts.
- To install, tighten to 12 Nm (9 lb-ft).







9. Remove the center roller hinge nut.
- To install, tighten to 20 Nm (15 lb-ft).

10. Remove the weatherstrip.
11. Lift the door off of the center roller hinge pin at the rear of the sliding door.







12. NOTE:
- Support the sliding door at the bottom of the door prior to removal or installation of the lower hinge.
- During installation, the lower hinge bolts are properly tightened during the Sliding Door Alignment procedure.

Remove the lower hinge bolts and the sliding door.
- To install, finger tighten.

13. NOTE: Before reusing the sliding door harness chain assembly, visually inspect for any damaged chain links. If any damage is found, install a new sliding door harness chain assembly.

To install, reverse the removal procedure.

14. Adjust the sliding door.
