Normal Operation
The smart junction box (SJB) monitors the headlamp switch through circuits 1399 (DB/WH) (AUTOLAMPS ON position), 1400 (TN/WH) (headlamp switch OFF position), 1401 (BK/LG) (PARKING LAMPS ON position) and 1402 (RD/WH) (HEADLAMPS ON position). The headlamp switch ground signal is sent through circuit 1205 (BK). After receiving the signal for the autolamps request from the headlamp switch, the SJB then monitors the light sensor ambient light conditions by sending a signal to the light sensor through circuit 1416 (YE/WH). The light sensor is grounded through circuit 1203 (BK/LB). If a problem is detected with any of the voltage reference signals to the headlamp switch, the SJB defaults the headlamps and parking lamps on.
