Test C: Poor Quality/Distorted/No Sound From All Speakers
PINPOINT TEST C: POOR QUALITY/DISTORTED/NO SOUND FROM ALL SPEAKERSNormal Operation
When the key is in START, the audio unit receives voltage on circuit CBP28 (GY/VT) to prevent voltage spikes from producing a popping noise through the speakers. However, a short to voltage on this circuit will cause the audio unit output to be continuously muted.
If the audio unit loses power or ground, the scan tool will not be able to communicate with it. Refer to Information Bus (Module Communications Network) to continue diagnosis.
This pinpoint test is intended to diagnose the following:
- Wiring, terminals or connectors
- Audio unit
