BRAKE GRAB - DAMP CONDITIONS
FORD:
2005-2008 Escape Hybrid
MERCURY:
2006-2008 Mariner Hybrid
ISSUE
Some 2005-2008 Escape Hybrid and 2006-2008 Mariner Hybrid vehicles built on or before 2/19/2007 may exhibit brake grab in damp conditions. This is noticeable during the last few feet of a normal stop during the transition between regenerative braking and normal friction braking approximately 10 MPH (16 Km/h) and below. The transition is necessary as regenerative braking function alone is incapable of bringing the vehicle to a complete stop.
ACTION
Follow the Service Procedure steps to correct the condition.
