Removal

CAUTION: Do not use heat to loosen a seized wheel nut or damage to the wheel and wheel bearing may occur.

1. With the weight of the vehicle on the wheels, loosen the wheel nuts.
2. With the vehicle in NEUTRAL, position it on a hoist. For additional information, refer to Maintenance/Service and Repair.
3. Remove the 5 wheel nuts.
4. Remove the wheel and tire assembly.

Installation

1. WARNING: Remove all dirt, foreign material or corrosion from the mating surfaces of the hub and wheel prior to installing the wheel assembly. An incorrectly cleaned mating surface may result in insufficient clamp load between the wheel and hub. Failure to follow these instructions may result in serious injury to vehicle occupant(s).

Clean the wheel mounting surfaces.
2. Install the wheel and tire assembly.

3. WARNING: Retighten wheel nuts within 160 km (100 mi) after a wheel is reinstalled. Wheels can loosen after initial tightening. Failure to follow this instruction may result in serious injury to vehicle occupant(s).

CAUTION: Failure to tighten the wheel nuts in a star pattern may result in high brake disc runout, which will speed up the development of brake roughness, shudder and vibration.

Install the 5 wheel nuts.
^ Tighten the wheel nuts in a star pattern.
^ Tighten to 133 Nm (98 lb-ft).
