ISSUE
Some 2008 Escape, Mariner, Escape Hybrid, Mariner Hybrid and Focus vehicles may exhibit an ignition key chime that continues to chime with the door open and key out of the ignition and/or steering wheel that will not lock.
ACTION
Follow the Service Procedure steps to correct the condition.
SERVICE PROCEDURE
NOTE
THE STEERING WHEEL ONLY LOCKS AT THE 12 O'CLOCK POSITION.
Install a revised steering column lock module following Workshop Manual (WSM), Section 211-05 for Steering Column Lock Module replacement.
