ISSUE
Some 2008 vehicles equipped with factory SYNC(R) and built on or before 5/5/2008 or dealer installed Ford Accessory SYNC(R) equipped vehicles may intermittently experience any Apple device, except iPod Mini, shutting off after 30-60 seconds of operation after first being activated. This may be due to the SYNC system being unable to authenticate the device. Other universal serial bus (USB) connected devices are unaffected.
ACTION
Follow the Service Procedure steps to correct the condition.
