Test B: The Wipers Are Inoperative - Rear Window
PINPOINT TEST B: THE WIPERS ARE INOPERATIVE - REAR WINDOWNormal Operation
Under normal operation, the rear window wiper motor receives power through circuit SBB30 (BN/RD) and circuit CBP12 (GN/WH). The rear window wiper motor is grounded through circuit GD150 (BK/WH). The rear window wiper motor receives open and ground inputs from the multi-function switch through circuits CRW20 (GY/YE) and CRW21 (YE/VT) to activate the wiper to the appropriate speeds. The rear window wiper motor monitors the liftgate glass ajar switch through circuit CPL58 (GY/OG). When the liftgate glass is closed, this circuit is grounded. If ground is not detected on this circuit by the rear window wiper motor, rear window wiper operation is disabled.
This pinpoint test is intended to diagnose the following:
- Fuse(s)
- Wiring, terminals or connectors
- Rear window wiper motor
- Multi-function switch
