Pinpoint Test D: Clutch Pedal Pulsation
Normal Operation
Clutch pedal movement is transmitted by fluid pressure to the slave cylinder, which in turn presses the release bearing against the clutch diaphragm spring. This force causes the spring to pull the pressure plate away from the clutch disc.
This pinpoint test is intended to diagnose the following:
- Clutch pedal pivot
- Flywheel runout

D1 INSPECT THE CLUTCH PEDAL
- Inspect the clutch pedal pivot point for correct lubrication.
- Is the clutch pedal pivot point correctly lubricated?
Yes
INSPECT the flywheel for excessive runout. REFER to Flywheel Runout Check Flywheel Runout Check.
No
LUBRICATE the clutch pedal pivot point.
