Air Cleaner

Removal and Installation

1. Disconnect the Mass Air Flow (MAF) sensor electrical connector.

2. Loosen the clamp and disconnect the Air Cleaner (ACL) outlet pipe from the ACL housing.
- To install, tighten to 4 Nm (35 lb-in).

3. Release the ACL outlet pipe retainer from the ACL housing.

4. Remove the 3 ACL assembly intake pipe pin-type retainers.

5. NOTE: When installing the ACL assembly, install the ACL housing on the 2 intake manifold studs first, then install on the 2 LH valve cover studs.

NOTE: No tools are needed to remove the ACL assembly. Removal should be carried out using hands only.

By lifting upwards on the ACL assembly, release the 4 ACL rubber grommets from the LH valve cover and intake manifold.

6. NOTE: Make sure that the 4 ACL rubber grommets are seated onto the LH valve cover and intake manifold.

NOTE: The ACL outlet pipe should be securely sealed to prevent unmetered air from entering the engine.

To install, reverse the removal procedure.
