Antenna

All vehicles utilize a fixed-mast antenna for AM/FM reception. The AM/FM antenna cable connects the AM/FM antenna to the ACM through an in-line connector located behind the RH kick panel.

If the vehicle is equipped with satellite audio, the satellite radio antenna is located on the roof panel.

If the vehicle is equipped with the SYNC system and without a navigation system a GPSM is used.

Satellite Radio

The satellite audio system is comprised of the following:

- ACM (satellite receiver is built-in)
- Satellite radio antenna (vehicles without navigation)
- Combination GPS/satellite radio antenna (vehicles without navigation)
- Satellite radio antenna cable

Front Display Interface Module (FDIM)

The FDIM displays the following information:

- Audio system information
- For all ACM except navigation.

- Compass heading (if equipped)
- Outside air temperature (if equipped)
- Climate control information
- For the HVAC module - Electronic Automatic Temperature Control (EATC) only.

Front Controls Interface Module (FCIM) - Vehicles Without Navigation Only

The FCIM acts as the customer interface with the ACM. It resembles a faceplate, and is standard on all audio systems except navigation.

Navigation System

The navigation system consists of the following:

- Navigation ACM
- Combination GPS/satellite radio antenna
- Microphone

The ACM controls the operation of the navigation system and the audio system. The system uses a GPS antenna, a vehicle speed input, and other sensor information to accurately establish the vehicle position.

SYNC System

The SYNC system consists of the following:

- APIM
- SYNC-specific steering wheel controls
- Microphone
- USB cable and port
- Audio input jack
- GPSM (vehicles without navigation)

The SYNC system is a hands-free communications and entertainment system that allows the following interactions:

- Send and receive phone calls via a Bluetooth-enabled phone
- Send and receive text messages via a Bluetooth-enabled phone
- Connect media devices (such as an iPod(R) or USB flash device) in order to play audio files
- Play media files via a Bluetooth-enabled audio device
- Produce vehicle health reports
- Initiate an emergency call (eCall) when the air bags deploy

Not all features are available with every phone.

For additional information on audio system operation, including the SYNC system, refer to the Owner's Literature.
