Parking Aid

Parking Aid

The parking aid system consists of the following:

- Four ultrasonic parking aid sensors (located in the rear bumper)
- Parking Aid Module (PAM) (located in the RH rear quarter trim panel)
- Parking aid speaker (located on the PAM)
- Parking aid disable feature (integral to the Instrument Cluster (IC) message center)
- Parking aid disable feature is not available when a MyKey(TM) is in use

The parking aid system sounds a warning to alert the driver of stationary objects near the rear bumper when REVERSE (R) is selected. The parking aid system assists the driver in detecting certain objects while the vehicle moves slowly in reverse at speeds of less than 4.8 km/h (3 mph). The parking aid system may not detect angular or moving objects.

Video

The rear video camera system consists of the following:

- Video camera (located in the license plate housing in the tailgate)
- Auto-dimming interior mirror (without navigation)
- Audio Control Module (ACM) (with navigation)

For vehicles without navigation, the image from the video camera is displayed in the left portion of the auto-dimming interior mirror. For vehicles with navigation, the image from the video camera is displayed in the ACM. The displayed video image is horizontally inverted from that viewed from the video camera perspective to mimic a conventional mirror image.
