Hard starting after a hot soak can be serviced by removing any sag or low point in the carburetor vent line. This will prevent any restriction or pressure buildup in the carburetor bowl.

A sag in the carburetor bowl vent line between the fender apron and the carbon canister may accumulate fuel vapors causing a slight restriction in the bowl venting system. This restriction may induce a pressure in the bowl causing the carburetor to flood. Remove the sag by pulling the vent hose back through the fender apron into the engine compartment (Figure 9). Wrap the hose with tape above the grommet to prevent the hose from pulling through.
