Subject: Service Recall and Owner Notification Program Index Update - Parts and Dealer Scheduling Times
Attached is a listing of recalls launched from July 1982 to date. It is organized to provide quick access to important information about each recall such as the units involved, major parts required, and appropriate times that you may wish to use for scheduling of repairs.
Also, we have included an updated listing of Owner Notification Programs launched from July 1982 to date. Please note that some of these programs had time and mileage limitations and have now expired.
This combined index supplements the ones sent to you in February and October 1982. Suggested uses of this combined index include:
^ As a quick reference when discussing a recall or owner notification program with an owner, it provides key information to let you determine when you can perform the repair. A copy of this index should be inserted in your Service and Parts Department Recall Organizer Binders so it's always handy. Also, you can sequence your bulletins to it in the binders so you can quickly locate the detailed information they contain.
^ When used in conjunction with "CARES" (Computer Assisted Recall System), it lets you rapidly understand the key points of recalls from the recall number given by the "CARES" response. The scheduling times shown are approximations. You should consult the Recall Bulletins for specific times for submission on 1864 Claim Forms.
NOTE: Vehicles involved in Owner Notification Programs are not contained in the "CARES" System.
