Spark knock and/or detonation in subject vehicles may be serviced as follows:

To service engine detonation on the above vehicles retard the engine initial timing in 2 intervals (up to a maximum 6°) until the detonation concern is resolved. After changing the initial timing check and reset, if necessary, the curb idle speed to the emission decal specifications.





Prepare an Authorized Modifications decal (FPS-8262) and list the date of service, dealer number and modifications performed as shown. Select a prominent place adjacent to the Vehicle Emission Control Information decal suitable for installing the Authorized Modifications decal. Clean the area, install the decal and cover it with a clear plastic decal shield.

WARRANTY STATUS: Reimbursable within the provisions of the Warranty and Policy Manual.
