Venturi Valve Limiter

Fig. 12 Venturi valve limiter adjustment:

1. Fig. 12-Remove venturi valve cover and roller bearings, then the expansion plug located at rear of main body on the throttle side of carburetor.
2. With an allen wrench, remove venturi valve wide open stop screw.
3. Block the throttle wide open then apply light closing pressure on the venturi valve and check gap between the valve and the air horn wall.
- If gap is not within specifications, adjust as follows: manually open the venturi valve to the wide open position and insert appropriate allen wrench into the hole from which the stop screw was removed.
4. Rotate limiter adjusting screw clockwise to increase gap or counterclockwise to decrease gap.
5. Remove allen wrench, apply light closing pressure to valve and recheck gap.
- If gap is within specifications, reinstall venturi valve wide open stop screw and rotate screw clockwise until screw contacts valve.
6. Push venturi valve to wide open position and check gap between the valve and air horn wall, then rotate stop screw until gap is within specifications.
7. Install new expansion plug in access hole.
8. Reinstall venturi valve cover and roller bearings.
