FORD 1983 ESCORT, EXP WITH 1.6L E.F.I. - MUSTANG, T-BIRD WITH 2.3L TURBO CHARGED
LINCOLN-MERCURY 1983 LYNX, LN7 WITH 1.6L E.F.I. - CAPRI, COUGAR WITH 2.3L TURBO CHARGED
Curb idle stalls and roughness can be caused by a loose throttle plate stop screw. A new screw and spring has been released to service the condition.
The curb idle screw on the above assemblies can wear after repeated adjustments such that the torque retaining patch becomes ineffective. Whenever a curb idle adjustment is made, remove screw N802339 (1.6L EFI) or N800545 (2.3L T/C) and replace with screw 355107-S7 and spring B8A-9578-B. Reset curb idle speed to the specification on the engine decal.
