LINCOLN-MERCURY 1983 CAPRI

Some early 1983 production 2.3L Mustang/Capris with 5-speed manual (M50D) transmissions may exhibit high shift efforts during break-in. The addition of two (2) ounces of friction modifier additive (C8AZ-19B546-A) will significantly reduce shift efforts.

1. Raise the vehicle on a hoist. Remove the transmission fill plug, siphon out about one pint of the transmission fluid.
2. Add two (2) ounces of friction modifier additive (C8AZ-19B546-A).
3. Top off with manual transmission fluid (D8DZ- 19C547-A) to the bottom of the filler plug.
4. Install fill plug and torque to 14-27 N-m (10-20 ft.lbs.), wipe the transmission dry and lower vehicle.
