NOISE - "SQUEAKING" FROM PARKING BRAKE AT REAR OF VEHICLE - VEHICLES BUILT 4/20/88 TO 4/26/88

FORD: 1988 ESCORT

ISSUE: A "squeaking" noise from the rear of the vehicle may be caused by the right hand or left hand parking brake cable rubber hose. The rubber hose may move in the bare metal retaining clip that secures the cable to the side rail just in front of the rear wheel.

ACTION: To correct this, install a vinyl coated retaining clip on each brake cable.
